Start the year with intention on a life-affirming week of yoga, fitness, martial arts, nutrition, relaxation and adventure on one of the world's most beautiful islands. Join the Chill'Asana Team on the idyllic island of Koh Samui, Thailand, at a breathtaking, afforable oceanfront resort with activities designed to help you disconnect from the stresses of your life and reconnect to your body and your soul.

Our retreats aim to inspire personal growth and supportive community while focusing on movement practices that connect and challenge the body and mind. We encourage connection and community, but invite you to "do you" and make this your ideal vacation.

Chill in the infinity pool overlooking the ocean, enjoy a surfing lesson, explore thrilling zip lines and waterfall hikes or kick back and take naps (or all of the above!). We’ll have a Vinyasa yoga class every morning, fitness workshops using a variety of bodyweight movements, martial arts workshops, meditation, and education on nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Several optional group excursions will be offered (zip lining! spirits tasting!) leaving the rest of the time for you to make new friends, unplug and reconnect.

We will practice in the open air of the ocean-view yoga space, hike down to our own private beach, explore interpersonal activities and develop a supportive community of friends on a unique adventure that will refresh you, reignite you and make you feel truly part of something.

We welcome all levels of experience and make our classes acessible yet challenging, inspiring and fun for everyone. You don't need to be a yogi, a fitness buff or a martial artist- you just need to be a human being interested in exploring, playing, growing and getting your movement on! Basic familiarity with yoga is recommended but not required.

Nathania Stambouli (Retreat Leader & Yoga Instructor) -  Coming from a background in fitness and circuit training, Nathania stumbled into yoga by accident in 2009 and what started as a purely physical adventure became a journey towards healing old wounds and experiencing a profound personal transformation. Through a dedicated yoga practice and a Master’s degree in Psychology, Nat unearthed a passion for helping others transform their lives, free themselves from negative behavior patterns and dare to be unapologetically real. She believes that yoga - and a healthy mind-body connection - is a gateway to self-love and understanding. Her classes are athletic and fluid, creatively sequenced and sprinkled with playful arm balances and transitions. Expect to be inspired and to learn to laugh at yourself. Expect to discover how your time on the mat is a mirror for your life and an invaluable tool to help you become your own best supporter. Nathania owns and operates SoulPlay Yoga, a yoga studio in Culver City, California and has run multiple international retreats with the Chill'Asana Team.

Gary Leake (Retreat Leader, Fitness & Nutrition Nerd) - Jack of many trades, Gary began his career as a national champion bodybuilder in the 90s while simultaneously languishing away as a computer programmer and technology manager. To spice things up, he performed and ultimately went on to teach improv comedy in the 00's. He then applied his knowledge and love of training and became a founding partner of the international fitness and nutrition company Metabolic Effect, leading multiple weekend seminars both nationally and internationally as well as online seminars and trainings in fitness, fat loss, nutrition and mindset. During these 20-odd years, Gary discovered that these two worlds are not as unrelated as they may seem on the surface. The ability to stretch (both your mind and muscle), see perceived failures and mistakes as opportunities for success, the ability to laugh at yourself and to always be learning are just a few of the key skills that Gary imparts on his students and peers. Not only will you learn how to workout in the most effective manner for every situation you may find yourself in in life, but you will also learn how to progress and regress workouts to your needs, and learn about the power of the mind-muscle connections running through your body. www.garyleake.com

Paul "The British Ninja” McCarthy (Guest Martial Arts Instructor) - Paul has been studying movement and martial arts for over 20 years. He holds black belts in martial arts including Filipino Martial Arts (FMA), Hapkido (4th degree) and Taekwondo (1st degree) and is an instructor of Savate, Muay Thai and Jeet Kune Do. With an MS from Indiana University in Kinesiology and his experience coaching, teaching and managing various movement practices, Paul is fascinated by what makes the body ‘tick’. He is currently working with Neuroscience Professors at UCLA, University of Victoria and University of Illinois to study how martial arts movement patterns improve cognitive function. Paul’s philosophy is that movement is vital to a happy and healthy life and that training and opening your mind to multiple arts, whether combative or healing, is the true path to maximizing your potential. In May 2016 he presented his research on Filipino Kali Escrima and Cognitive Development (‘Cognitive Kali’) at TEDxUCLA and aims to create a revolution in movement research across the world. www.britishninja.com
